Notes from the Infirmary

It's a pretty amazing thing to watch a grown man and a five year old go through a sickness together.  I'm not trying to take away from any one's experiences or sufferings but there is marked difference with the way people react.

Last night when I took Julia out of the car, she told me that she felt like she needed to throw up.  As quickly as she mentioned it, she shot me her mischievous grin and seemed to be just fine.  It wasn't until this morning that I took her temperature and it was 103 that I realized that she was really being serious.   She hardly ate anything today besides crackers but other than that, she acted completely unaffected by her fever.

Alex is a completely different story....

He has been running a fever as well but can hardly muster the energy to get off the couch.  Poor thing.  On the bright side of things, Julia and I finally opened up one of our presents from Christmas.

She totally cheats.  Look at her all over the center line!  It was nice to be able to spend some time with my two favorite people but I hope they get feeling better soon.  I hope that I don't get it next either.....I'm an even bigger baby than Alex ;)

Are you a big baby when you are sick?

  1. I can be a bit of a baby, especially because I'm single and get so quickly exhausted when the four year old runs around. I wish I WAS like her.... Being sick doesn't slow her down at all.

  2. I get super cranky when I'm sick. I'm not fun if I can't run. :)
